I'm Matt. I'm Trying.

INTERNAL CONFLICT: I totally love the vibe of this calendar.  The ribbons motif is very cool and the choice of typeface is perfect.  HOWEVER, the placement design is terrible.  On a personal level, the week always starts at Sunday, but the whole things-don’t-line-up-properly thing is not good at all.  It makes the calendar too difficult (or too much work, rather, as it’s not impossible) to read.
i.e. the lowest number day should be the beginning of the week.  Having the farthest left date (Monday the 2nd) on the same line as Sunday the 1st (which takes place the week before, according to this calendar) is absurd.
Seriously.  Drop everything, Monday through Saturday, down a level and this would be perfect.
</end design rant>

Hey dude,
I totally understand your position and thanks for the other compliments. Just so you know (as my kind of self defense) I did this on purpose because none of my calendars have ever started with Sunday. I just don’t like that personally so I’ve always started mine on Monday. Granted you are right, it probably would have been better to do it that way, but I like to make it wrong on purpose if that makes any sense because its just my style.
Also, as for alignment and placement, if you are also referring to how the type lines up on the ribbons themselves, I would say I actually like the way they are. They have slight warps to them to flow with how the ribbons flow, so there off-center on purpose. I also don’t find the calendar hard to read at all, the only day that is off is Sunday anyway :)
